A hands-down winner Oct 04, 2009 I bought this pan a few weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to use until today. I used it to make a beef braised in red wine. Sauteing the beef and then the chopped vegetables was a breeze. I thought that the oblong pan might be a problem with my stove, which his a flat glass top. But it worked out great. The fact that part of the pan is not under the burner was actually a benefit, because I could push the cooked vegetables to the less heated part and thus prevent overcooking. I then put the whole concoction (with the red wine, broth, etc.) covered in the oven for the 3 hours need to braise the meat. The rubber handles, while they still need to be handled with a pot holder, were not scorching hot like metal handles would have bee. This is going to be my new go-to pot for all stove-to-oven cooking.
RR Oval Pan Sep 17, 2009 This is a great non stick pan that is great for anything requiring a large skillet type pan. The only down fall is the shape is not conducive to the tradition round burner and often does not cook items evenly.
WONDERFUL PRODUCT Aug 06, 2009 I BOUGHT THIS AND THE WHOLE RACHAEL RAY SET, IT IS THE BEST SET OF PANS I HAVE EVER PURCHASED!
this is a must for family cooking Aug 05, 2009 I recently ordered this 5 quart Rachael Ray pan, nothing sticks to it, heats all areas evenly, great for bacon on Sunday morning, to big family dinners. Clean up is easy, heating pads not needed to maneuver it around. I love to cook, and this pan makes it even better, its an investment i would do all over again. As for the packaging and shipping, that was done very well too, i think i received it 3 or 4 days from the orginal order, very pleased all the way around.
My Favorite Pan and One of the Best Presents Ever. Jul 25, 2009 My boyfriend saw me eyeing this in the store on a few (hundred) occasions and got it for me for christmas. I had not bought it myself because I couldn't see paying that much for a single pan since I've never shopped for such things. I'm officially won over now. This pan was definitely worth the money. It distributes the heat beautifully, doesn't let anything stick, and makes it super easy to cook larger amounts of your favorite recipes for crowds. Plus, just like the lady herself, you can make the sauce for your pasta course for 6 people or so and then toss it all together in the same pan. And yes guys - if your wife or girlfriend actually loves to cook a pan like this is not only an acceptable but a wonderful present for her.
