works great Oct 26, 2009 i never thought much about an ice cream scoop until i realized that most of my good spoons were bent all to heck by people digging into hard ice cream. i bought the zyliss scoop and love it. i bought the one prior to this that has the lever and the moving part in the scoop to dislodge the ice cream. it never worked that well and always seemed to be jammed up. this one has no moving parts and works extremely well on hard ice cream
Great scoop, but not perfect.... Oct 14, 2009 When first holding this ice cream scoop one of the first things you'll notice is its weight. From the start you can tell that this scoop is very solid. No moving parts, or liquids or gels inside of it, but very simple and effective. The shape and weight of the scoop allows you to scoop even the hardest ice cream. In addition, as you dig the scoop into ice cream, the ice cream tends to naturally "roll" into a perfect sized scoop. Very good scoop.
The only negative thing I have to say is that the metal finish on the scoop needs some improvement. After every use I hand wash this scoop...though I believe it is dishwasher safe I've never washed it that way. After several months of owning this scoop I've noticed that a couple tiny "bubbles" have formed on the scoop where the finish has chipped off. I don't use any abrasive materials to wash this item. Just a simple sponge and soap. I currently still use this scoop, but if the finish keeps chipping away I'll definitely be looking for something else in the near future.

much better than using a normal spoon Aug 08, 2009 Before I bought this, I used to use a regular spoon. I would leave rock hard ice cream on the counter to soften. More often than not, I would forget about it, and would return to an inedible soupy mess. This scoop can go right through rock hard ice cream, without much effort. Don't want to know what the special chemical coating is, cause it sure works well. No rusty springs, no malfunctioning parts.

Very good at what it does Jul 31, 2009 It's an ice cream scoop and a good one. Sturdy, comfortable to use and it's design makes it much easier to scoop hard ice cream with less effort than many cheaper scoops and spoons I've had over the years. I'd say it's well worth the money as it certainly won't bend, doesn't feel likely to break and should serve very well for many years.

Excellent scoop Jun 27, 2009 This scoop works better than any other that I've tried. However, after a few years' worth of cycles through my dishwasher, the plating started bubbling off. I bought a duplicate to replace it and will hand wash the new one... It's well worth it.
